ON EXHIBIT: June 4th – July 31st, 2017

OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, June 8th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Blowers Gallery of Ramsey Library

Ramsey Library is now featuring works by Asheville painter Jamie Rowe-Rischitelli in a new exhibition June 4-July 31 in the Blowers Gallery on the Library’s Main Floor. A reception with the artist will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 8 in the gallery. The exhibit and reception are both free and open to everyone.

Rowe-Rischitelli says her art is “heavily influenced by elements in nature and the study of ikebana, specifically line, space, mass and rhythm.” In this exhibition, she is pairing her paintings – some abstract, and some from her bird series – with ikebana flower arrangements. Ikebana is a Japanese art form dating back to the seventh century. The medium used is living materials – branches, leaves and flowers.

Rowe-Rischitelli has a BFA in painting from West Virginia University and has lived in Asheville since 2004.
