There are times when I need to convert a file from one format to another. A free online tool that supports conversion between different file types is Zamzar. Zamzar’s simple interface makes converting files easy and I don’t have to create an account to use it. I’ve found Zamzar useful when adding files to websites. For example, I can use Zamzar to convert a Windows media file (.wmv) file to a Flash video file (.flv) that will play in Moodle or Mahara.
