Looking for an online venue to discuss and share items with your colleagues?  Try Google Groups.  A Google Group can be used as a mailing list for sending information and as a discussion forum.

Depending on how it’s configured, Google Groups can be public, open only to members, or open only to the group’s managers.  The group’s owner maintains membership.  They can add members directly or by invitation.  UNCA also has a few Google Groups such as the faculty_  and staff_ , that automatically enroll members. Once someone becomes a member of a group, they can participate in its discussion forum.  To see which groups you belong to, click on the Groups link in the black bar at the top of the UNCA email window, and then click the My Groups link.

Google Groups are available to all UNCA faculty, staff and students with a valid email account, however only faculty and staff can request and manage a Google Group.  Contact ITS to request a Google Group.
