Interested in utilizing location-specific analytical data in your research? You should make use of our Simply Analytics database! It has many features and refining options though, so it will really help to get introductory instruction from an expert as you start to learn it. That is what we have coming on October 3rd at Noon! Juan Vasquez of Simply Analytics will be leading us in an online workshop in some of the coolest features of the database and in clear language lay out how to get the most out of it. As someone who has attended several of Juan’s workshops, I think after attending this, you will have the skills necessary to use SimplyAnalytics in your UNCA research. I highly recommend this session!

Would you like to attend? Here you go: October 3rd @ Noon SimplyAnalytics Workshop sign-up is here.

Also, 3 of our luckiest attendees will win cool socks! We will draw 3 winners at random at the end of the workshop, and here are the socks themselves. Nice, right?

If you want to explore and get your feet wet before attending, feel free! Here is SimplyAnalytics (UNCA authentication required off campus)

What is SimplyAnalytics?

It’s a web-based mapping, analytics, and data visualization application with 100,000+ data variables, including: demographic data from the US Census dating back to 1980, the American Community Survey (ACS), consumer spending data from the Consumer Expenditure Survey (CEX), and D&B’s Points-of-Interest business directory providing access to over 5 million US business profiles. Additionally, users have access to the MRI-Simmons LOCAL consumer behavior marketing dataset, which includes data on over 8,000 brands, 450 categories and detailed lifestyle data. The Community Lifestages dataset is also available, enabling researchers to understand target locations or identify target markets. Data is largely available down to the block group level, and custom locations can be created. Note: access is limited to two concurrent users.
